Somali Educaiton and Health Organization (SEHO)
SEHO Supports and funds institutions that carry out the following public services PDF Print E-mail

SEHO supports a number of  women's and children's health services carried out in three regions in South and Central Somalia. SEHO services have started back in June 2006 when the East Bardera Mothers and Children's Hospital was established.

Currently, there are five maternity hospitals which in some level benefit from SEHO operations in communities in Bardera (Gedo), Abudwak (Galgadud), Nasriyah and Hagar, both in (Lower Jubba). Bardera Maternity Hospital was the first center to recieve support from SEHO and its suppoters.

Initial SEHO supporters are from Canada and the United States. The idea to have basic community health center with well supplied pharmacy came from a graduate of Centennial College in Ontario, Canada.

The support which SEHO gives to these health centers include direct financial contributions such as staff salaries (other incentives and bonuses), utilities, rent, medical supplies, equipment and training. All five health posts (Bardera Maternity Hospital, West Bardera Maternity Unit, Abudwak Maternity Hospital, Hagar Maternity Hospital, Nasriah Maternity Hospital) function as maternity centers and equal focus is given to children's health services.

Diaspora friends of these centers also give individual or groups support in the form financial and hospital supplies.  Friends/supporters of these Maternity Hospitals are based in the states of Ohio and Maine of the United States. Additional support comes from Canada, mainly from the supporters of SAWAP women's group of Canada.  This type of support is repeated many times over from Somali diaspora whose support helps hospitals and schools to function .
