Bardera Polytechnic As Regional Skills Training Centre

Bardera's central location will help other cities such as Garbahaarreey, Beled Hawo, Lugh, Sakow, Baidoa, Bu'ale, El Wak and other cities send their high school graduates for further studies at Bardera Polytechnic. Similarly, hospitals from these towns can send their staff for training on various fields.

On the veterinary front, Bardera Polytechnic created Bardera Veterinary Institute, the first such center dealing with veterinary services and veterinary education for Gedo Region's livestock herders and associations. Disease control/prevention and sound management of resource are the goals of Bardera Polytechnic program creators and academic staff.

Bardera is the breadbasket of Gedo region and major exporter of food to many parts of Somalia as well as Kenya. Bardera exports vast quantities of famous Bardera onion. Sound agricultural development and management system is paramount for Baardheere Polytechnic.

Bardera Agricultural Institute and Bardera Veterinary Institute both operate in conjunction with the college's extended programs.
